There was plenty of logging activity on Mount Hood during the summers of 1975 & 1976 ... horses and helicopters, cats and skidders and FMZs, spar trees and Skagit yarders. Dozens of log trucks came down the Clackamas River and through Estacada every daylight hour, heading toward one of the area lumber mills. It all slowed down a few years later.
